Alcohol is not permitted anywhere on BYU Campus, including inside the Marriott Center or in its parking lots.
Dress. Shirts are required. Clothing displaying unsportsmanlike comments are not permitted.
Entering the Floor without proper credentials is a violation of conference and facility rules. Offenders will be ejected, fined, and subject to prosecution.
Exit/Re-entry into the Marriott Center is available by obtaining a re-entry hand stamp available at designated gates. The hand stamp and your ticket are required for re-admittance. All tickets are non-transferrable. Once a ticket is scanned, it may not be used by another guest to enter the venue, even if the original guest is leaving.
Flyer Distribution. The distribution of advertising flyers or brochures is prohibited.
Lost and Found articles should be reported or turned into the Special Events Office, ushers or University Police. Any article not claimed after the event will be sent to the University Central Lost and Found. You may contact this office at 801/422-3024 (room 118 Wilkinson Student Center).
Prohibited Items in the Marriott Center: Weapons of any type, bags larger than 12”x12”x12”, other large items, any outside food or drink, including bottled water, umbrellas (ponchos recommended), fireworks, glass bottles, cans or coolers, artificial noisemakers, battery operated megaphones, signs larger than 22”x28” (poster board size), sticks or poles, laser pointers, video cameras, whiteboards, skateboards, rollerblades, and any other items deemed dangerous by management.
Public Address messages are accepted for medical emergencies only and must be cleared by University Police.
Radios can be used, but please be considerate of those around you and use earphones.
Signs. Guests are welcome to display signs inside the Marriott Center during events provided they are not in poor taste, profane, political, offensive to teams, groups or individuals, or an advertisement. The sign should not be larger than 22"x28" (the size of one piece of poster board), impede another guest's view of the playing field, create a safety hazard or cause a disturbance among other fans, cover any facility signage, or be made of any material deemed hazardous by Event Management. The affixing, hanging, or displaying of signs on walls, bleachers, ramps, or around the facility grounds is prohibited.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Marriott Center.
Stadium Chairs Personal stadium chairs should not exceed 18" in width or depth. Chairs larger than 18" encroach on the seating area of surrounding guests. Guests with chairs that exceed these specified dimensions may be asked by Event Staff personnel to discontinue use.
Standing is not permitted on the concourse, ramps, or portal entries. Each ticket holder must occupy the seat purchased.
Excessive standing in non-student sections--please be aware that when you stand, you block the view of the fans behind you. We do not wish to diminish your ability to cheer and enjoy the game, however, your continued standing can interfere with others' ability to enjoy the game from their seats.
Tailgating. Individuals are allowed to tailgate as long as it does not take additional stalls and/or block the travel lanes. Tailgating activities occur directly behind or in front of one's vehicle. Large group spaces for RV's, etc. are located in the lot north of the Indoor Practice Facility near the Smith Fieldhouse. For safety reasons, the use of charcoal or open flame (wood) is not allowed. One may use propane grills.
Throwing of any object of any type of material or substance is a safety hazard and is not allowed. This includes throwing anything onto the playing floor and ball playing in the facility or parking lot areas.
Ticketed Age Everyone two years of age and older must have a ticket for reserved-seat events. Lap-seating for children two and older is NOT permitted.
Tickets and Merchandise Sale/Resale are prohibited on BYU property. Private vendors are NOT allowed on University property.
Unlawful Ticket Sales. It shall be unlawful for any person to resell or offer for resale any ticket of admission or other evidence of the right of entry to any athletic contest, concert, theater performance, amusement, exhibition, or other entertainment event to which the general public is admitted within seven hundred fifty (750) feet of a ticket office for such a contest or event, or a public entrance to such a contest or event. (Provo City Law 6.27.010. enacted 2002-47, Ren 2003-04)
Wheelchairs. Those with wheelchair area tickets may sit in their wheelchairs in the sections designated. Guests with a wheelchair, but with tickets in other sections must check in their wheelchairs with an usher. Wheelchair area tickets are non-transferrable to other guests not needing that accommodation.
MARRIOTT CENTER TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE:
During basketball games, guests may report security or guest services concerns (e.g. disruptive behavior, smoking, drink spills, broken seats, etc.) by texting the keyword BYU, followed by their location and issue to 69050. Management will follow up immediately on any valid requests (e.g. BYU spilled soda section 6 row 3 seat 11). Standard text messaging rates apply.
